OVERVIEW
 Natural disasters are more common than we think. Severe weather takes hundreds of lives each year. In some disasters, such as extreme heat, deaths can be prevented. Advance planning and education are key to staying alive and healthy during a natural disaster.

The best way to prepare your patients for an emergency is to first prepare yourself. Knowing the indications and possible results of a natural disaster will help you keep yourself and your patients safe.

This in-service exercise looks at how to prepare for, and survive, some common natural disasters.
